The holidays are fast approaching! The majority of us are starting to look forward to all of the celebrations and festivities that lie ahead. It’s not all too surprising that the number of people signing up for gym memberships skyrockets in the new year. But why not save yourself the hassle of putting weight on and having to work excessively to lose it again? Instead, you take steps to keep your weight stable and stop from overeating during this festive period. Here are a few steps that you might want to consider to:

Go Easy on the Treats

It’s absolutely fine to indulge in the odd treat here and there. If you want a mince pie, eat one. If you fancy a slice of Christmas cake, eat it. Believe it or not, fats and sugars can form part of a healthy diet. But, the key is moderation. You don’t have to accept every treat that is offered to you. Limit yourself and stick within your limits. Consider writing down all the treats you’ve had and jot them down in your food journal. This journal will keep you in check as you can recount moments of holiday overeating.

This will help to keep you in shape and could also help to burn any extra calories that you consume by overeating. 

It’s extremely easy to gain weight over the festive period if you do not monitor your behavior. However, with just a little self-control and by following the steps above, you can help to maintain a stable weight over the next couple of months!
